3 Life Lessons From 2 Toddlers

As a mom of two adorable boys, Jasper and Liam, I’ve had my fair share of parenting highs and lows. But something that consistently amazes me is how much these two little guys have taught me about life, leadership, and my own personal growth. Today, I want to share with you three profound lessons that my sons have taught me, which have forever changed the way I view the world and myself.

1. I Don’t Have to Do It All By Myself

One of the most impactful moments came when my older son, Jasper, reminded me that I don’t have to shoulder every responsibility alone. This was a wake-up call. As a mom, entrepreneur, wife, and CEO, I often felt compelled to handle everything on my own, deriving self-worth from my productivity. But, Jasper said to me “Mom—You don’t have to be the one to do this all by yourself”. It’s essential for balance and well-being. This lesson has reshaped how I approach both my personal and professional life, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and shared responsibilities.

2. Actions Speak Louder Than Words

My kids are like little mirrors, reflecting not just what I say, but what I do. This realization hit me hard. As a leader, it’s crucial to understand that our actions have a more significant impact than our words. If I want to instill certain values in my children or my team, I need to embody those values myself. This has been a powerful reminder in both my parenting and leadership roles. By living the principles I believe in, I can effectively guide and influence those around me.

3. Time Is My Most Precious Asset

Finally, watching my boys grow up at what seems like the speed of light has taught me the value of time. Every moment with them is precious and irreplaceable. This awareness has led me to prioritize my time meticulously, focusing on what truly matters. It’s about making intentional choices to be present in the moments that count and understanding that some things in life, once missed, are gone forever.

Embracing the Lessons and Moving Forward

Parenthood has been an incredible journey of learning and self-discovery. Through my experiences with Jasper and Liam, I’ve learned the importance of shared responsibilities, the power of leading by example, and the invaluable nature of time. I hope these insights resonate with you, regardless of your life stage, and encourage you to reflect on your own life lessons.

Remember, it’s never too late to reevaluate your priorities, challenge your limiting beliefs, and lead by action. As I continue on this parenting adventure, I’m eager to see what other lessons my two tiny humans will teach me. Until next time, cherish every moment and lead with intention.
